This is the "External Edition" website of a newspaper called the Perplex City Sentinel and provides news of all the goings-on in Perplex City.

''The Sentinel was founded in 89AC by the legendary property developer and industrialist [[Redward Innes]]. A colourful personality, legend has it that Innes set up the newspaper (then called the Perplex City Sentinel and Working Man's Friend) simply in order to settle a grudge against a business rival, whose [[Perplex City Vanguard]] was then the leading paper in the city. Cards first appeared in the [[Firebox Advert 28.04.05|Firebox advert]] and were followed soon later by an appearance in the [[Parcels]] sent out. The cards have diferent colours, numbers and sets.

According to the "[http://wiki.incognitus.net/ppc/index.php/Image:Sente_howto.jpg rule card]" you have to collect the cards and solve them to win [[Perplex Points]] at [[Perplexcity.com]]. You then have to try and make complete sets to win extra points and ?. Then you can investigate who stole the [[Receda Cube]] and learn about [[Perplex City]] to reveal who took the [[Receda Cube]] and why. Then it will be possible to find where the [[Receda Cube]] is hidden and claim the reward.

On June 13, [[Violet Kiteway|Violet]] posted a link to a file that she and [[Kurt McAllister|Kurt]] found in a [[Key]] stolen from the mysterious [[Reconstructionists]] compound ([http://quirkyacuity.com/archives/2005/06/a_mysterious_fi.html link to entry], [http://quirkyacuity.com/reconfile.txt direct link to file]).

In [http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=166490#166490 a post on Unfiction], [[Brian Enigma|BriEnigma]] suggested that the file is a [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Befunge Befunge] stack. Following this method, one would start at the upper left corner of the file and "walk" in the direction of an arrow until reaching another arrow, then following the indicated direction. Eventually, one arrives at the @ at the end. In doing so, one ends up with a sequence of numbers separated by "+" and "*".

Hawk [http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=166615#166615 completed the solve]. After looking at [[Brian Enigma|Brian's]] stack, he graphed the frequencies, got confused, then realized space was much more common than "e". After removing that, he did a frequency analysis, which matched letters perfectly. He then divided the space one by space's ascii code, got 27, divided the rest by 27 and turned ascii into text.

==Descriptive==

Reconstructionists are one of the off-shoot successors of [[The Brotherhood of the Six]]. They are one of the smaller, radical splinter cells.

Cult members are apparently encouraged to take on new names, and absolve themselves of their old life. It is entirely unclear what the process of this involves, but may require signing over all personal assets to the cult. Known to use aggressive recruitment tactics.

Reconstructionist scripture includes the statement "(The Cube shall) be delivered from the faithless hands of the Academics." In short, their profound belief is that the cube is a great religious item, and must be liberated.

There exists considerable speculation, both in Perplex City and on Earth, about the legitimacy of the Reconstructionist's intentions, and any possible involvement in the theft of the [[The Receda Cube]]. Although no formal ties can be found, an investigation is under way.

Reconstructionist formal garb includes long robes, worn at such times as lectures. Their daily life involves Meditation, and Farming. Isolation is desired by the Reconstructionists.

''The compound's huge - must be at least 500 or 600 people living there. The construction, as you'd expect, is really impressive - stone buildings (dormitories, refectory, library, school) that look like they'd survive for thousands of years. The walls are incredibly thick - must be two or three meters thick, I'd guess. I suppose this sort of construction is what gives outsiders the idea that they're planning for armageddon, but I think they just take their construction really seriously. It has the look of a brand-new ancient rustic village, if you see what I mean. The place is dominated, of course, by the huge temple, with those six enormous spires you can see on the skyline for miles around. There's a sense of order as well - you always hear it described on the news as a "compound including livestock", which makes it sound as though there are sheep wandering the streets. But no, it's all ordered pens and bells ringing to signal feeding time. It's peaceful, actually.''
