Most of the terrific advances in security tech we've seen in the last five or eight years, have all come because these two companies [are] in tooth-and-claw competition with each other. Now that there is no more competition, the field is likely to become stagnant. ... In this business, stagnant means vulnerable to attack.

Clearly the research team hasn't been ensuring adequate security, from all of these reports we're hearing. ... Releasing this generation of keys now would border on criminal negligence.
