The Bell Tower

• The Bell Tower is open to be climbed between 8am and 8pm every day giving excellent views over the Old Town and the Academy site.

• The peal of bells which plays every hour on the hour is determined by the precise placement of a set of ancient Leks which are placed as weights in different places in the mechanism.

• Tour guides often remove a Lek or add one to show how the tune changes.
