The unit works in conjunction with the Centre for Reality Research and had been considered something of an academic backwater until the theft of the Cube brought Earth into the public eye. Commenting on the announcement of securing funding, Academy Master Sente Kiteway said: "we have been very fortunate to secure sponsorship from such a diverse range of companies, able to bring both their expertise as well as their funding to the table." The sponsorship group includes Centrifuge, Autonomica and the media giant Veonyx.
