The Night
Nights on Earth are always special. There is an unknown, romantic feel in the air, making you want to go out and enjoy yourself. It makes you want to seek out your lover or friends, because everything just looks so pretty under the moonlight.
You can take a stroll in the park with your significant other. Walking around enjoying the scenery, talking about nothing in particular, and just enjoying some time together. Maybe you can even have a late-night picnic near the lake, or wake up some sleepy ducks and laugh at their wild quacking. Of course, you could always sit on a bench and watch the moon reflecting in the water. However, these days, you never know when a mugger is going to threaten your life just to get some of your valuables.
You could go out to a bar, to have a couple of beers with your friends. It’s always nice to be out and about, and the atmosphere in most bars is nice and welcoming. There is always plenty to talk about with your friends: sports, politics, movies, music, whatever tickles your fancy. And if you’ve all had enough beers, it doesn’t really matter what you talk about anyway, the company is always good. After a few more beers, everyone sings along to the music coming from the stereo, as loud and off-key as possible, thankful that they won’t remember any of it the next day. However, these days, you never know when a drunken guy is going to start a fight with you over absolutely nothing.
You could go to the cinema, and watch a nice movie on the big screen. Earth films come in all shapes and sizes. There’s comedy, for people that enjoy a light-hearted movie that makes them laugh. There’s drama and romance, for people that like to be swept away be a flick. There’s science fiction and fantasy, in which unbelievable worlds come to life right before your eyes. There are thrillers and horror movies, for people with nerves of steel. There are huge blockbuster movies, which cost hundreds of millions of dollars to make, and feature some amazing special effects, so that literally anything can happen. However, these days, the tickets are way overpriced, and most of the movies aren’t that good anyway.
So a lot of people stay home, to watch a good movie, listen to some music, or play around on the Internet. For some people, chatting online is a big part of their life, with all their friends and/or family appearing on their screens. Some people just like to talk to strangers from around the world. There are even some video games, in which you pretend to be someone else, living in another world, with other players from all around the globe. However, these days, you never know what viruses enter your computer through the internet, and you never really know if the person you’re talking to online is a creep or not.
Yeah, Earth nights aren’t that special after all…
