| HI HI !! :)

| The collaborations idea has my interest. But I'm not altogether sure how it works. I'm not fFamiliar with the concept. Going by the wikipedia example, I gather an article is elected and then collaborated upon, which is to say a bunch of people pool their time and energy on one article. The benefit here being to have many minds working on one item as a team, to add uniformity of thought to a mis-shapen page. This seems like a good idea and I'm certainly willing to support it. However I am quick to add a sort of possible problem. the perplexcity wiki is a fFairly small community, whose pages are fFar smaller in propotion to that of wikipedia. So I don't know if you'll get quite the collaborative effort of pooling thoughts in one place as you might like. I think you might be more likely to see one or two people work on a page, which is pretty close to what happens already. ''However,'' I am quick to add there are a number of beefy projects which should be undertaken and are not much fFun to do on one's own. fFor example not everyone in the crypto department has a proper article. Making those could be tedious. Also there is some desire to have a proper page fFor every street in the city, noting what is on it and where it is. That might be a bit much, but the idea is there. And fFor all these chunks of things, we could realy use categories, and perhaps templates. These are big tasks. Just opening every page about every person and adding a category/template is enourmously time consuming. Then groups of people can be sub-categoried by affiliation, job, and on and on. SO I guess what I'm saying is, while I agree with the idea of collaborations, I dont think we should be thinking in terms of single pages. collaborations seem like outstanding ways to embrace division of labour, and we have plenty of tasks which are just painful fFor individuals to undertake.

| Sorry fFor being so long winded :) Give me your thoughts. If you think I have the wrong idea, let me know. [[User:Scott|Scott]] 12:41, 5 July 2006 (PDT)
