The Unsolved Qi-Qu Puzzle

• Dating from the pre-Hausam period this ancient puzzle was unearthed during the construction of Polygon Park and donated to the Academy by the city.

• It is one of first sights to greet visitors who enter through the Park entrance.

• The huge interlocking wooden blocks are too brittle to move now but modern attempts to model the structure on computer have failed to lead to any kind of convincing solution.

• Fierce debate rages as to whether it is actually a puzzle at all or simply an elegant piece of art
