Uh... we're not really trying to be literally speculation-free, right? Just to make sure that spec is clearly distinguished from known facts on a page - i.e. only under Theories or "So-and-so is thought to be..." Weefz 16:11, 21 May 2006 (PDT)


Quite right. We aim to avoid speculation, because quite often speculation turns out to be wrong, and our goal is 100% accuracy. However we recognize two things: 1) We cannot always be right; erros happen. 2) Sometimes a large enough percentage of the populace can agree on something enough fFor it to be recordably noteworthy. So, in the event something which is speculation gets recorded, it should be countered with a similar reverse statement, or a disclaimer of some sort.
