It leads to several other conclusions:
* They started off trying to increase the accuracy, but then moved onto trying to increase the distance over which they were able to transfer.
* The lab may have been part of another underground facility, so it would not have been visible when the Visitor Centre opened.
* The Gamma Shields seem to have been introduced in order to combat the problem with EM waves.
* It is possible (although this is highly speculative) that the Gamma Shields failed when Major Maine was transferred which may be why he was having so many problems with the EM waves.

PERPLEX CITY, SEASON ONE
The search for the Receda Cube on Earth

General

The lab reports were retrieved from the VHC tempfile.

  • First phase appears to be the subject dissapearing, Second phase the travelling, and Third phase the subject reappearing (or not!).
  • Laika appears to denote a canine subject.
  • SSO Carter appears to be a bystander.

Other relevant information

Using the Hobbs Island Transcript:28-SEP-06 we know that the following people were subjects prior to Jake Maine as he knew their outcomes:

  • Thorpe ended up in the wall (not in Lab Reports}
  • Jackson turned into steam, and they could continue to hear him screaming
  • Choi was lost
  • Stephens was lost

Elan is not mentioned by Jake Maine, so he may have been a subsequent subject, someone unknown to Maine, or just not mentioned by Maine.

From the emails between Sente Kiteway and Chadwick it appears that the canine phase was first, and that human phase was called Tau-Seven. We are also told that Lakia 233 successfully completed phase three, but suffered psychological effects.

Sente sent Scarlett off to stay with her aunt and uncle link, possibly so that he was free to travel to Viendenbourg without anyone knowing. She was there between mid August and mid September 2006.

Conclusions about sorting data

  • The numbers of dates, locations, and subjects are all the same, so it is likely that we have full sets.
  • The canine trials were first, and then the human trials. Lakia 233 made it through, but several human subjects were lost, so the third phase information cannot be put into order by success.
  • Thorpe ended up in the wall, and Maine who went afterwards ended up on Hobbs Island. It seems unlikely that they would aim to send someone to an unmanned, pre-war facility. However, having partially got the geopositioning sorted, they may have been trying to increase the distance over which they could send someone. This makes putting the geopositioning information into order by success difficult, as with distance, the accuracy may have been decreasing.

Sorted Data

  • This is a best fit of the data, so may not be right. Assumptions in sorting the data are included in the file.

Violet & Scarlett went to Viendenbourg, and were shocked by the appalling display of ... tourism. Kurt managed to dislodge a choppy piece of data, affectionately known as the VHC tempfile, the contents of which changed everything.
