A disused mine south-west of Perplex City, Miranda Katsoulis was closely followed there Kurt. Their current location is somewhere in the mines. Also Violet is on route and may have already reached the mines.
- The mine was first suggested as Miranda's destination by Violet, who found out about it by reading all the sign-out logbooks in the Library.
- Violet then discovered that the mine complex contains mineral deposits which stop electrical devices and compasses from working, and that the miners historically overcome this by using a ferrogramatograph. She obtained one from the Museum using her connections (Sente), borrowed Scarlett's car, and took it to Kurt. She also gave us the Silburn-Griggs Historical Society's website address (it is true to style and contains many errors).
- Historical information about the mine and some maps can be found on the site, but the most intersting aspect is that the mine is full of puzzles designed by the superstitious miners.
- Also of note was a song that linked names and colors to possible dangers within the mine.
- Kurt asked for volunteers to advise him whilst he was in the mines on the afternoon of 21-MAY-06.
