General
- Built in 1996 (259 AC)
- Groundbreaking Event was on or about September 3, 1995 (258 AC)
- The Ascendancy Point is over 1,300m tall and is the tallest building in Perplex City.
- surpassing the Noh Tower by more than 400 metres.
- From the Ascendancy Point it is possible to take in the whole city.
- Known for its high-priced housing and expensive boutiques
- Main entrance is on Ascendancy Way (which runs parallel to Fivebridges Lane).
- Welcomes millions of tourists through its doors every year.
- Comprendo is the in-house financial association, serving all the financial needs of every tenant.
- Eclipse Security is the in-house security company, handling surveillance and patrolling the whole Point.
- See also: Disaster Maintenance: Heat Sensors
- See also: Building Maintenance: Air Conditioning
- The Building's internal systems (environmental, security, & business) are all completely tied to each other, meaning no one element of the system doesn't integrate with any other system.
- This is done with the ideal goal of making the Point the pinnacle of luxuriant living.
- The potential (and inevitable) backlash of this system integration, however, is that when one thing fails, everything fails.
- The mightiest chain is only as strong as its weakest link.
- This sort of system failure has been happening, with an increasing amount of difficulty, and embarrassment.
- However, Earthly residents have been using some of these weaknesses to an advantage. See: Building Maintenance: Air Conditioning
- Jules Northerlie, Communication Director, Insists the whole issue has been overblown, and in fact of very minimal concern.
- Nevertheless, the Ascendancy Point Residents Association has been formed to voice the complaints of the many.
- Many of the bugs in the system are being worked out, and may have been very minor problems caused by someone specifically who didn't know what they were doing.
- The point has been the site of only one known base jumper.
- Point security have declared themselves prepared to apprehend any such thrill seekers.
- Nevertheless, in the early morning hours of 17-MAY-06, an unknown jumper made his way to a little-known service hatch, climbed to the very peak, and leapt from the highest point of The Point.
- Clarissa Oh, the last person to attempt such an event, in 2003, was caught before making her way to the top.
